About Margaret Bowland: Margaret Bowland’s spellbinding and psychologically charged work brings viewers face to face with contentious culture while affirming the resilience and triumph of the human spirit. A masterful observer of life’s unpredictable nature, her work conveys universal themes through unusually specific insights. Bowland’s work explores the subtle and nuanced edges between strength and vulnerability, certainty and doubt, faith and disbelief. Bowland’s probing and deeply personal images call into question our societal expectations of gender, race, and beauty.

About Nathaniel Mary Quinn: Nathaniel Mary Quinn is a mixed media artist who creates large-scale figurative artworks, which he refers to as “hybrid creatures.” His assemblages and paintings splice, fuse, and fracture together seemingly unrelated features and portions of the face and body to create composite portraits. Quinn’s portraits are culled from a range of source material including biographical memories, experiences, and contemporary imagery. Addressing how identity is constructed, Quinn embraces the duality of human essence including beauty and grotesque, achievement and failure, and vulnerability and power.

About Dexter Wimberly: Dexter Wimberly is an independent curator based in New York City. He is the Director of Strategic Planning at Independent Curators International (ICI). A passionate collector and supporter of the arts, Wimberly has exhibited the work of hundreds of artists internationally. Wimberly maintains a critical dialogue with artists throughout the world by way of his exhibitions and programs at galleries, museums, and art spaces.
