Battenfield’s luminous paintings on Mylar describe graceful forms of twisting boughs and branches of trees set on a pristine white open sky. When applied to Mylar, Battenfield’s fluid pigments reassert themselves, separating and forming unexpected distinctive abstract, transparent and opaque patterns. In addition to being a well-established fine artist with artwork in collections around the world, Battenfield is a distinguished arts educator and author of the Artist’s Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love.
