The Huntington Beach Art Center is delighted to present Art Reclaimed, organized and installed by Southern California artist and curator Brian Ray Ball. Art Reclaimed is an exhibition of original artworks employing reused and discarded materials – reshaping the idea of environmentalist art.

Brian Ray Ball is a stained glass artist and curator based in Redlands, California. The Orange County and Los Angeles punk scenes heavily influenced his teenage years and continue to transform his ideas around DIY culture and creativity. As a participant in the Burning Man Community for over a decade, Brian finds inspiration in the ephemeral nature of art and the power of communal efforts.

Until recently, Brian lead the installation team at the Huntington Beach Art Center, where he contributed his expertise to the creation of thought-provoking, professional and community-based art shows. Currently, Brian pursues a life of full-time artistry, traveling the world, collaborating on stained glass projects, and enjoying gardening in his backyard.

The group exhibition features large-scale assemblage, immersive environments, and reimagined traditional crafts in the Art Center’s 3000 square foot galleries. The show challenges conventional societal associations of waste and mass production to transform planned obsolescence into beautiful works of art.

The Huntington Beach Art Center is a community arts and cultural center operated as a public/private partnership by the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Art Center Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit. The HBAC will host a public opening reception, an Art for Lunch event and curatorial panel discussion during the exhibition.
