Chelsea 27, a brand new art space in the Chelsea District of New York City is seeking to discover three of the best contemporary artists in an international juried competition who exemplify excellence in terms of creativity, composition and technique.

AWARD
The three winners will be given a 3 week exhibition at Chelsea 27, 617 West 27th Street, NY, NY 10001 from July 10th – August 2nd 2014, with an opening reception on Thursday, July 10th 2014 from 6-8pm.

The jury panel will consist of Christine Jeanquier of Artemisia Gallery, Latifa Metheny of Azart Gallery and Marina Hadley of MZ Urban Art.

ELIGIBILITY
This Juried Exhibition is open to all artists, 18 years and older. All media are accepted. Selection will be made from jpegs only. (No original works will be viewed during the jurying process.) Two-dimensional work may not exceed 60” high by 48” wide. 3-dimensional work may not exceed 75lbs in weight and 65 cubic feet. (Crates cannot be stored). A multi-part work to be displayed as a single unit that does not exceed the size limitations will be considered a single entry.

$35 for first 3 images (6 images 3-D work)
$5 each additional slide
Fee is non-refundable.

IMAGES
Each entry is to be represented by one image. For three-dimensional work, . Each jpeg must be submitted with the artist’s name, title of work, media and dimensions. (e.g.: FirstLastName_Title_Medium_Dimensions.jpg). See at the bottom of this page to submit your images.

PRESENTATION
All work must be delivered ready for installation or hanging (framed, wired, Plexiglas only for 2-dimensional work—no glass). Small sculpture should be firmly attached to a base or pedestal provided by the artist. The artist assumes responsibility for the safety of any small sculpture not so attached. Some floor pedestals are available from the gallery. Work must be labeled with the artist’s name, title, media and dimension, as well as the price. The Gallery reserves the right not to exhibit any work that is not considered appropriate in kind or quality when received. No substitution of the selected work will be installed.

DELIVERY
Work may be hand delivered or it may be sent by common carrier. Selected artists must prepay all insurance, shipping and handling fees for the return of work by the common carrier. If hand delivered, a date and time must be agreed for pick up. These return forms must be filled out prior to shipping work to the gallery. Work will not be exhibited without agreed removal instructions.

REMOVAL
All work must be picked up at the gallery at the removal times listed on the form. Due to space limitations, the gallery cannot provide storage of art works. Work not removed by specified dates will be moved to a storage facility. The artist will be charged $25 per day for storage and work will be disposed of after 30 days.

SALES
All work submitted must be available for exhibition and sale. The gallery will charge 50% commission on sales made as a result of the exhibition.

Submission of work for this exhibit constitutes agreement with all terms and conditions stated above.
