Anatomy of a Wave is a two-day seascape workshop geared for intermediate to advanced level artists.  During the workshop students will have the opportunity to paint on scene at Robert Moses State Park Field 2  as well as as at Gallery North.  You will receive a detailed description and demonstration of the concepts involved in creating successful seascape paintings and will then have the opportunity to engage in open discussion.

Following discussion, students will create a seascape painting (pastel or oil)  from their own photographs or those provided by the instructor.  Throughout the workshop, guidance and individual attention will be provided to help ensure the understanding of all aspects of a seascape painting.

Painting and/or pastel experience with the understanding of value/color is required.

Anthony Davis is a self-taught artist who is known mostly for his award winning maritime scenes and seascapes in pastel.  He is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists and Artist member of the Salmagundi Club.
