“A new job to unwork at” is an exhibition and ongoing performative symposium that considers the role of work as a social, material, and economic concept, crucial in shaping our identity and reality. The selected artists contemplate this notion, while examining cultural production and its position in a larger system of labor relations, inherently connected to current social and political movements. The inclusion of video, writing, activism, and performance provides an alternative means to understand what labor means in a field increasingly dominated by freelance culture and entrepreneurial values. Curated by Andrew Kachel and Clara López Menéndez.
Opening reception: December 2, 5pm – 8pm
