Sunday June 29, artist William Snyder III invites you to Old Bowery Station – 168 Bowery – for 800,000 Acknowledge. Remember. Renew. Snyder’s large-scale installation features 100 handmade crates containing 2,500 handmade books with 800,000 pages. Each page memorializes an individual killed in the 100-day Rwandan genocide. The work will be on display from noon to 10pm with an artist talk and Q&A from 6:30-7:30pm and a reception from 7:30-10pm. At Old Bowery Station, Snyder invites New Yorkers to dip their hand in clay and put their handprint on one of 800,000 pages.
