There may be snow outside, but there’s blue grass inside the Marlborough Arts Center at 231 North Main Street in Marlborough, CT when “Grass Routes” plays for the 4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe on Friday, February 27, 2015. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. but the doors open at 7:00 with time to peruse the art works on exhibit as well as the unique crafts for sale in the Gift Shop.
Although known as bluegrass players, the “Grass Routes” also play folk and country and are a delightful and personable five-member group with Bill Reveley, Marilyn Toback-Reveley, Dave Orlomski, Joe Lemeris, and Tim St. Jean playing multiple instruments including mandolin, fiddle, guitar, banjo, and upright bass. Unique to this group that has been together for over 20 years is that each member sings lead, so their harmonies change with each song and promise a night to remember in the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery. This is a real gift for all bluegrass lovers, and an unexpected pleasure for those who may not be familiar with the group.
Admission at the door is $10/person. BYOWine with other refreshments available.
The Marlborough Arts Center is a non-profit regional center for the fine arts, performing arts, and fine crafts with website www.marlborougharts.org and telephone (860) 295-9389 and Facebook/Marlborough Arts Center
