From September 18 – November 7, 2014, Seattle’s Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) will present its generally annual Members’ Show.

Over 100 CoCA members responded to the call from all corners of the globe. Responses to the theme, “Who Are You?,” went so much deeper than the ubiquitous selfie. From conceptual investigations about the body to explorations of space and alternate universes, our members represent a broad range of artistic voices in diverse mediums including video and sketchbook, up-cycled and re-cycled, paint and even chocolate. Unique contemporary mixed media highlights in the show include an acrylic painting that encases actual fruit flies; a concrete rubble duck infused with gold; dental x-ray viewers that read, “I am Fine;” and twisted tire tread re-shaped into an elegant abstraction. All artists that submitted to the call will have an artwork on view. 3D glasses are encouraged.

Two past CoCA Board Presidents, exhibition juror Joseph C. Roberts, and producer Ray C. Freeman III have collaborated to bring the 2014 Members’ Show to life. All artists who submitted will be presented through an online gallery at the CoCA website and in the print catalog.

Be surprised, inspired and amazed, enjoy a tasty beverage in the Members’ Lounge, reunite with friends, meet our newest artists, members, volunteers and patrons at the opening reception on September 18 from 5 – 9 pm. Part of ART@SDC’s Third Thursday Artwalk. 10 galleries, 3 fountains, 1 unique building.
Always free parking and admission.
