Creative Aging Network-NC (CAN-NC) announces a Call to Artists who are 50+ for our “Summer Shade Festival: Celebrate Creative Aging with Us” to be held on September 17-18, 2021.
A weekend celebration featuring an exhibition by North Carolina artists 50 and better, open studio tours, live music, art and garden demonstrations, and campus tours.

If you are an artist who’s 50+, you are invited to submit up to 3 works of art for our Summer Shade Festival. 2-D and 3-D media are eligible and must be ready to hang or display. Please complete the entry form and submit your $25 entry fee at this link: https://can-nc.org/events.

Art drop off dates are:
• August 30th and 31st from 10am-2pm
• September 1st and 2nd from 4pm-7pm
• September 3rd from 10am-2pm.

Join us for an Opening Reception on Friday, September 17th from 5:00-9:00 pm on our campus at 2400 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405. North Carolina Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green will open our Summer Shade Festival by performing one of her poems on Friday evening, Sept. 17th. Saturday’s event will run from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (Rain or Shine).
