Revelation Renaissance
CityArts
Entry Deadline: Feb. 1
During the age of the Renaissance, artists were commissioned by patrons and churches to create works based on interpretations of biblical scenes. The last year has been filled with chaos and turmoil, which led a couple of anonymous local art collectors to re-read the Book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Bible. Enlightened by the vivid imagery depicted through words, these art collectors/enthusiasts are sponsoring an art exhibit to feature selected works of art inspired by the Book of Revelation. They are particularly interested in seeing artists’ interpretations of the imagery and storytelling from various verses, such as Revelation 2-3:21 (The Seven Churches), 2:17 (The rock with a special name on it), 16:13 (The three like frogs) to name a few.
Thanks to the generous donation, the following prizes will be awarded:
– 1st Place (Best in Show): $10,000
– 2nd Place: $2,500
– 3rd Place: $1,000
– People’s Choice: $1,000
The Downtown Arts District and CityArts Orlando will be accepting art submissions for REVELATION RENAISSANCE 2022 through midnight of February 1, 2022.
