The Rare AIR program at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO invites artists in visual art, music, and theater to apply for a residency. More information can be found on the program website.

Application Requirements: Personal Info, 1 Reference, Online Portfolio/Website, Brief Proposal with Schedule Requests

Residents receive:
– Fully furnished housing for the duration of the residency. Housing consists of a two bedroom apartment with off-site laundry facilities. The apartment is shared by multiple rotating residents & comes with free parking and/or use of a bicycle.
-Complimentary use of the University fitness facilities.
-Complimentary lunch or dinner with the Arts Committee members.
-Access to creative facilities such as the fine art studios, recording studio, computers, pianos, maker space etc.
-Opportunity to collaborate with faculty and observe classes.
-Potential professional development such as voice lesson, stage combat lesson etc.
-Optional student intern/assistant

Residents return:
– Culminating event at the conclusion of the residency such as a recitation, exhibition, performance, or workshop
-Option to leave a creative item / found treasure/memento as part of the collection in the residence housing.

At this time, there is no additional funding to support travel to and from the residency. Residents are responsible for all additional costs related to their stay.
