Public Art Opportunity – Commission for a School

The City of New Haven (CT) Percent for Art program will commission a work of art for Strong 21st Century Communications Magnet & Lab School, a new pre-K-4 school on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University projected to open in 2019. For consideration, send the following to [email protected] by June 16, 2018:
1. Artist statement, CV, and biography (1 PDF)
2. 5 Images* of past work (JPG or PNG, 2MB-5MB, preferably 1024 x 728 px) or 1 video (>1 minute, in .mov format) and 4 still images
3. Image list (Title, Date, Media, Dimensions)
All mediums considered. Artists working in three-dimensional mediums (sculpture and architectural integration) encouraged to apply. Open to artists in all locations. Preference is given to artists in Connecticut and New England.
Total budget is $59,000, which includes all costs (materials, transport, insurance) and artist’s fee.
Artists applying for this opportunity will remain in the city’s artist registry for consideration for future opportunities.
