PLUMAS SIERRA COUNTY FAIR PANEL PAINTING MARATHON
CALL FOR ARTISTS

AUGUST 10th, 11th &12th, 2017/Dateline: July 14th

EVENT
Plumas Sierra County Fair and Feather River College Art Program are pleased to announce the 2017 Panel Painting Marathon artistic event that will take place during the Plumas Sierra County Fair during August 9-13 of 2017. Seven artist will be chosen to paint a panel of 8×8 feet each. The panels will have to be painted on site during the fair beginning on Thursday 10th and finishing by the end of Saturday 12th.

GUIDELINES
The seven chosen artist will have to take into consideration: The theme is “Agriculture”. The painting will have to be related to the theme. Organizers will provide the panels ready to paint. The panels will have to be painted on site and cannot be moved. Prizes will be publically announced on Sunday August 13th at the fair. Artist will have to be present in order to obtain the award.

WHO CAN APPLY
Anyone with the ability to paint an 8’x8’ panel in 3 days. Teams formed by two artists will also be accepted. Chosen artists will paint on site surrounded by a busy fair. In this event, the public will see painters perform their painting techniques on site.

PRIZES
The seven participants will be awarded $300 for materials and accommodations. Artist will have the choice to camp on site free. The awards given on Sunday will be: 1st Prize: $1,000 /2nd Prize: $500/3rd Prize: $250

HOW TO APPLY
Send the following needed documents as a single PDF file to [email protected] by June 30th:
1. Contact information: Name, address, phone #, email and website (if you have one).
2. Design with the proportions of a square (panel will be 8’x8’). It could be designed by hand or digitally. Up to 3 designs will be accepted by artist or team of artists.
3. Art statement related to your design (1 page max.)
4. Images of 5 past related artworks.
5. Image list of those past related works with title, year, material, budget and location.
6. CV (2 pages max.)
