Participate in the Laurel Art Guild 46th Annual Open Juried Exhibition at the Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel, MD!

Awards:

Six cash prizes will be awarded:

First Place – $250
Second Place – $200
Third Place – $150
Three Merit Awards of $75 each.

Eligibility:

Any artist over 18 years old who resides in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, or New Jersey, or is a previous LAG member, may submit two entries. However, only one entry per artist will be exhibited if accepted by the judge.

Works entered must be an original composition created by the entrant. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and firmly wired and must not exceed framed dimensions of 36”W x 48”H. Wall mounted three-dimensional work that meets the specific hanging requirements will be considered. Submitted artwork must have been created within the past three years and not previously shown at Montpelier Arts Center.

Entry Requirements:

Screening will be done by jpg files.

Digital images must be at 300 dpi in jpg format and no larger than 5”x7”. Files should be labeled:
“A-LastName-FirstName-MiddleInitial-TitleOfWork”, and if submitting a second work,
B-same as A. (EX: A-Smith-John-C-Clutter.jpg)

Jpg’s and entry form can be submitted online or by CD. If submitted online, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 5 days.

For mail-in, please label CD with name.

Entries must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2015. Send CD and entry form to:

Conditions:

All art must be suitably framed and securely wired for hanging. Exposed glass edges or unstable frames will not be accepted. Matted works must be matted in white or off-white only. Glass must be clean. Wall-mounted sculptures which are fragile or contain breakable materials must be in a shadow-box frame and must weigh less than 40 lbs., including frame.

All work must be titled and priced. If not for sale, the value of the work must be stated on the entry form. A form for labeling the back of accepted works will be available on location on the drop-off date.

All art must remain on view until the official close of the exhibit.

Laurel Art Guild reserves the right to refuse any artwork upon delivery that it deems to be improperly presented, unsafe, damaged, does not meet size requirements, or not the same as represented in the image submitted for judging.

Fees & Commissions:

A $25 hanging fee is due when accepted art is delivered. Please make checks payable to Laurel Art Guild.

Laurel Art Guild will collect a twenty-five percent (25%) commission on the sale of any artwork during or as a result of this exhibit. The price set by the artist will be considered firm.

Delivery & Pickup:

Accepted work must be hand delivered to the second floor of the Montpelier Arts Center on Thursday, February 26, 2015 between 12-2 pm or 6-8 pm. Please use the outside ramp at the left of the main entrance.

Exhibited art must be picked up on Monday, March 30, 2015 between 12-2 pm or 6-8 pm. Failure to pick up art at these times will result in a storage charge of $5 per day.

Liability:

Reasonable care will be used in handling artwork. Insurance coverage is limited to $500 per work from delivery date to pick up date only. Laurel Art Guild will not be responsible for loss or damage to any artwork. Submission of an entry constitutes agreement with the conditions set forth above and affirms that the work is original and does not infringe upon any copyright.
