Japan Day @ Central Park was an annual event held in Central Park since 2007 that promoted cultural exchanges between Japan and the U.S., expressed appreciation for New York City, and strengthened ties within the Japanese American Community.

The event was reborn as the Japan Parade on May 14th, 2022, with over 2,400 participants in 85 units marching down Central Park West while a crowd of over 20,000 cheered them on.

Our Art Contest began in 2012 as the Japan Day Art Contest, and it was likewise reinvented in 2022 as the first Japan Parade Art Contest. Now, we are excited to announce that the Japan Parade Art Contest for 2023 is now open!
