Call for Work:

The Goethe-Zentrum (German Cultural Center) Atlanta, is interested in providing a platform for international artists to exhibit artwork inspired by German culture. We are interested in artists who are from Germany, have lived in Germany, or have created bodies of work that are tied to their German experience.

The Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta is part of the general network of over 154 Goethe-Instituts worldwide. Through a variety of cultural events the center promotes international cultural cooperation and plays a large role in building bridges of understanding and in conveying the appropriate image of modern Germany.

Artists must:

If your work is original in its conception or expression, has a thought-provoking perspective or challenges preconceived ideas of Germany, send the following to [email protected]

• A CV / resume that includes information about your main solo and group
exhibitions (in Word format or PDF).
Full name and contact details should be provided.

• A short bio with information about who you are, or an artist’s statement explaining your approach (in Word format or PDF)

• 5 to 10 JPEGs as examples of the work you would like to propose for a solo exhibition

JPEG images must comply with the following specifications:

• Be no larger than 2MB each

The files you submit should be named in the following way:

• CV / resume: YourLastName_YourFirstName_CV

• Bio / statement: YourLastName_YourFirstName_Bio
• JPEG images: YourLastName_YourFirstName_TitleOfArtwork_Medium_Dimension_Year.jpeg

N.B. Dimensions should be in inches and give the width first, then the
height, and then, if necessary, the depth.

For example, if your name were Oliver Steinbeck, your files would look like this:
• Steinbeck_Oliver_CV.pdf
• Steinbeck_Oliver_Bio.pdf
• Steinbeck_Oliver_NoWorld_Acrylic_44X30_2015.jpeg

Please understand that submissions that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for practical reasons.

* Exhibitions will be on view for three months.

*Artists will arrange the transport of the work to the Goethe.

*The Goethe will arrange for shipment of work back to the location of origin.
