The Digital Fabrication Residency is an online skill-building intensive incubator for visual artists and designers with the desire to learn digital fabrication workflows such as 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, digital embroidery, textile printing and other CNC related workflows. The programing consists of individual consultations, group workshops, open work times and guest speaker talks with residents. This innovative program enables artists at all levels in their career to explore technology that is changing ideas in the production of art and in the craft of making. The Digital Fabrication residency as a program dedicated to the digital craft of making. The residency utilizes online collaborative tools to enable learning; consultation and idea development catered to the individual project needs of participants.

The Digital Fabrication Residency introduces residents to specific software workflows and provides residents with limited license to selected software for the duration of the residency.

Residents can submit up to 5 files to be 3D printed or submit files for a limited number of laser cuts or for a limited number of digital embroidery works.*

• The residency will include visiting speakers, workshops, individual consultation meetings; all utilizing interactive collaborative technology readily used in education and industry.
• The Digital Fabrication Residency is designed to work with your busy schedule.
• Using your smart device or computer connected to high-speed Internet, you are connected to an incubator that will change your ideas about making.
• Professional level software workflows cover designing, modeling, engineering parts, file preparation, locating CNC related services and insider tips on software workflows and professional level services providers for machine output.
• Each resident has the opportunity to submit up to 5 files to be 3D printed as part of the residency. *
• Learn about how to integrate innovative fabrication processes such as CNC milling, lasers, 3D printing, digital embroidery, textile printing, and electronics into your projects.

Residents are provided with selected software programs chosen by Digital Fabrication Residency and resources for the duration of their time in the residency.
