Call for Program Proposals
The Studios of Key West
Entry Deadline: Jun. 15
The Studios of Key West, the premier arts organization at the Southernmost Point of the United States, is accepting proposals for exhibitions, performances and workshops for their 2023/24 season. The Studios will be starting next season’s programs as early as August, so are encouraging proposals for programs happening late summer & early fall, with high season being Jan-Apr 2024.
Have an idea for a program? The Studios presents just under 30 exhibitions each year across three floors of museum gallery spaces at their landmark art deco building in Key West, plus the 200-seat Helmerich Theater and 75-seat Hugh’s View rooftop terrace stage offer spaces for intimate concerts, theater productions and much more. Each year, The Studios also offers over 70 classes and workshops in a range of media.
Decisions regarding which productions, workshops and exhibitions to present at The Studios flow from the organization’s Purpose, Strategies and Values, which emphasize directing resources to artists to create innovative work that strengthens the Florida Keys’ community. Proposals that might not otherwise find a venue in Key West, and/or address themes that resonate particularly in their island home are encouraged.
Please note: The Studios has limited artist housing available for theater groups, visiting exhibition artists and others. The Studios does not typically cover instructor housing for classes, but if it would be required for your class to take place, you may ask for special consideration in your proposal.
