Storied References – January 12 – February 26, 2021
Storied References: Visual artwork employing the familiar narrative motifs found in oral traditions, fairy tales, fables, myths and legends to grapple with the harsh truths of contemporary reality. Storied References is part of an exhibit suite exploring adult narrative.

Selection Process – Works will be selected from a national call for entry, by invitation and co-curated by NIU Art Museum staff members and the Exhibition Advisory Committee.

Eligibility – The NIU Art Museum is currently accepting submissions in all media. This call is open to all artists in the United States 18 years of age or older. Two people must be able to handle and install the submitted artwork, which must also fit through a single door (36” wide x 84” tall).
