BoldPas: A Day of Art & Play in Old Pasadena
Old Pasadena
Entry Deadline: Mar. 15
The colorful and creative BoldPas: A Day of Art & Play returns Saturday, June 8, 2019 to the commercial and historic heart of Pasadena, California – Old Pasadena and its unique downtown alleyways. The free art event – now in its third year – is one day only and encourages the community to experience art in myriad ways and showcases selected temporary art installations that are bold – in color, scale, materials, and concept.
Proposals for the temporary installations should be community friendly and showcase color, fun, surprise, and playfulness. Upcycled materials are a plus. Participatory and interactive work, “experiments,” and surprising/creative approaches are welcome. Emerging artists are strongly encouraged to submit; the call is open to all artists, both students and professionals.
Old Pasadena Management District will award six stipends at $750 each to chosen installations based on installation and selection criteria, which can be viewed in entirety online: www.oldpasadena.org.boldpas
Artists must live in the greater Los Angeles area and be at least 18 years of age. Pasadena-based artists are especially encouraged to apply. Deadline to submit is Friday, March 15 at noon; selected artists will be notified March 25.
