Join the community of artists at Torpedo Factory Art Center. Founded in 1974, the Art Center is the home of the nation’s largest collection of working-artists’ open studios under one roof. An Alexandria landmark for 45 years, it’s the highlight of the Potomac Riverfront, attracting approximately 500,000 visitors annually.

Through this application, accepted artists can sublease studios when offered by leaseholders. If accepted, artists may take advantage of other opportunities at the Art Center including applying for available studios to lease. Artists create, show, and sell work in 82 studios. Current media represented at the Art Center include painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry, stained glass, fiber, printmaking, and sculpture. Artists at the Art Center are to maintain open studio hours for the public to enter, observe the creative process, ask questions, and purchase original art work.
