New Orleans Museum of Art is pleased to present the new vibrant work by artist Odili Donald Odita. In honor of NOMA’s centennial, Odita has been commissioned to create a site-specific mural for the museum’s McDermott Lobby.
Odita, born in Nigeria and now lives in Philadelphia, he is well known for his hard-edged abstract paintings and murals in colors based on his Nigerian heritage. His works reflect African fabrics, but Odita also draws inspiration from contemporary media-centered culture as well as the growing up in both Nigeria and America.
