The Marlborough Arts Center invites everyone to the Opening Reception of the “East of the River” Juried Art Show on Friday, April 21, 7-9 p.m., to meet and greet the artists whose works have been selected to be in this Show and to win awards by the well-known artist and teacher, Juror Bill Colurus. The artists participating are from across the state and represent a variety of media. Close to $2,000 in awards will be presented to the winning artists at the Reception. The Show will be open every weekend day from 1-4 p.m. from April 21 – May 6. Admission is free of charge.

This “East of the River” Juried Art Show will be exhibited in the beautiful Charles W. Hall Art Gallery in the historic building that is the Marlborough Arts Center at 231 North Main Street, Marlborough, CT. There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible. Beyond the pleasure of meeting and greeting the artists at the Opening Reception, and while enjoying a buffet of food and wine, everyone will also have the opportunity to participate in a Silent Auction with fabulous prizes valued over $1,500.

For those who would like to purchase any of the artworks from this Show, the Arts Center is sponsoring a “Special Viewing” on Sunday, April 30 from 1-4 p.m. There will be time to closely peruse the artworks and contemplate them in your home or workplace. Beyond these works, the internationally-known artist Jim Grabowski is offering one of his large (5×6) paintings, a magnificent cutting edge original for sale, truly a rare opportunity.
