William King Museum of Art continues to celebrate the diversity of regional artistic talent with its biennial exhibition, From These Hills: Contemporary Art in the Southern Appalachian Highlands, a major exhibition of new works by artists working in all media in Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee, Western North Carolina, Southern West Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky. The 2017 exhibition will open in The United Company Contemporary Regional Gallery of William King Museum of Art, Abingdon, Virginia, on October 5, 2017, and will continue through February 11, 2018.

This exhibition will be guest-curated by Courtney McNeil, chief curator of collections and exhibitions for Telfair Museums in Savannah, Georgia.

Artists working in all media are invited to submit images or, in the case of performance art, a DVD, for consideration. From These Hills defines William King Museum of Art’s commitment to the creative spirit of the artists who live and work in the Southern Appalachian Highlands.
