DAC Gallery is pleased to present, Lore: Temporal and Sublime, a juried exhibition featuring eight artists working in drawing and printmaking.
Linking a body of innate knowledge and traditions passed through unspoken imagery and symbolism, Lore: Temporal and Sublime focuses on the uncanny and surreal aspects of visual storytelling.
The works in this exhibition seek to capture the delicate nature of memory, reveal the precariousness of the present, underscore the ambiguity of our origins, and embrace the uncertainty of the future. Drawing, printmaking, and some mixed media elements are rendered in subtle linework and transparent hues, with an almost otherworldly filter.
The impetus for Lore: Temporal and Sublime grew out of the universal themes of transience found in these eight artists’ works, each discovered through the DAC’s first Call for Artists since 2011.

The exhibition runs August 4 – September 4. An opening reception will be held on Thursday August 14, 7-9PM in conjunction with the Downtown Art Walk. For daytime visitors, the gallery will be open from 11:00AM-3:30PM.

Exhibiting Artists: Donna Abbate, Joanne Cervantes, Marie-Noëlle Deverre, Sy Hearn, Shannon Keller, Molly Rose Purcell, Kaitlynn Redell, Hannah Spitz.
