In the heart of Miami Downtown, just a few Metromover stops away from the new Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Nina Torres Fine Art reflects the urban landscape of Miami and responds to the city’s rapid growth as a cultural destination. The gallery manager has established the first waterfront gallery in the heart of Downtown Miami, in what it promises to be Miami’s true cultural destination: the Miami Arts & Entertainment District.

The 8,000 square feet gallery space across the street of Margaret Pace Park is located at 1800 North Bayshore Drive, in a high-rise building adorned with fountains and with breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach and the Port of Miami. Nina Torres International Exhibition is an event curated by Paul Cabezas, featuring painting, sculpture, installation, photography, performances and mixed media art of international artists.

The juried show is an important event for all collectors and art lovers providing an intimate look at some of the most emerging artists of the international contemporary art movement.

The artworks Dreamscapes No. 401 and No. 1004 by Milly Martionou, painted in oil on canvas, has been selected to show at Nina Torres Fine Art in Miami.

In reviewing her artistic concept, what is the meaning behind Milly Martionou’s series? A longlife fascination with painting shapes the work of the Athens (Greece) based artist.

Highlighted in the exhibition are in-depth presentations of her recent abstract works, that address the experience and representation of beauty and mental emotion, in the context of obsessions, solitude or joy as well as the significance of subconsciousness. A variety of dripped brushstrokes is overlaying and simultaneously cover the inner journey of the artist.

Milly Martionou has exhibited in various exhibitions, among them Moya Museum Vienna, The Blender Gallery Athens, Salon National Des Beaux Arts Paris, Affordable Art Fair Milano and Arte Monaco. She received a degree in Fine Arts Painting at the University of Hertfordshire in North London, UK.

No doubt that her paintings are playful explorations of colorful space and shapes. To describe her work, you certainly can use the term “hybrid art” – a flow stage of in and between. In this experimental intermediate and experience space colorful elements cross and mix up fluently. Is there an implosion or spectral reflections of a gemmy diamond?

Milly Martionou’s paintings reflect inner peace, passion and love as well as the uncertainties in nature, change and new life, genesis and eternity.
