In honor of National Photograph Month, Watershed Art House presents “Sensor Stimuli: Fakation, All I Ever Wanted” in which teams of local photographers, models, and muses alike will collaborate to create original vignettes in an interactive photoshoot on one giant set. Each design will be staged for you and your friends to peruse and inhabit at your leisure: think of it as socially acceptable voyeurism. Onlookers are invited to float from scene to scene to moving between experiences relaxed within these curated worlds like the subjects of a live painting with props and costumes in some cases. Be yourself or someone else.
Photographers and set designers have been given the prompt: “Fakation” (fake vacation). The rest is up to the imagination, whatever a “fakation” might mean to you. Anything from a backdrop made of a beach scene shower curtain and inflatable pool floats to a void of color, Sensor Stimuli is meant to inspire both the photographer and her subjects.
We invite you to once again, touch/be the art. Spectators welcome.
When: May 19th, 7pm – 10ish pm
Where: 258 Granby Street, Norfolk VA
Why: To take pictures for picture-taking’s sake and build weird little worlds for grown ups to play in.
