Jim Kempner Fine Art is proud to announce our upcoming exhibition Paula Scher: The Art of Map Design (April 11th–May 19th). Paula Scher is one of the most acclaimed graphic designers in the world. In the 1990s, she began painting colorful typographic maps of the world, its continents, countries, islands, oceans, cities, streets and neighborhoods. The paintings were a reaction against information overload and the constant stream of news, which, like the paintings, presented skewed versions of reality in a deceptively authoritative way. This exhibition will feature her new 2018 and 2019 screen-printed maps as well as Paula Scher classics.⁣
