The annual New Milford Art Walk is returning on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.  This year’s event is a one-day arts celebration, filled with artists and artisans demonstrating their work, dancing, and other performances.  The day is free for guests to enjoy a day of art hosted by our local merchants and businesses.

The walk will feature a variety of artists demonstrating and selling their works:  painting, drawing, fine metalsmithing (jewelry and other), glass arts, photography, three-dimensional work, and many others.  Interested artists may still apply to email address below.

The event is rain or shine with artists hosted in downtown businesses demonstrating their skills and talents.  There will be an information booth near the bandstand where guests will be able to pick up maps that include the events of the day and where to find them, and also will contain information about local treasures:  permanent art collections and art of interest in the Town of New Milford.  Art lovers can use this information to continue their local arts and culture experience beyond the Art Walk.

The New Milford Art Walk began in 2014 and has grown since then. This year it is hosted by the New Milford Commission on the Arts, which has been a part of town since 1977, and helps fund, advise on, encourage and promote artistic and culture activities in town.  The Commission’s Instagram account will be sharing previews of the artist’s and artisan’s work – look for us at newmilfordarts.
