Gallery 25 and Creative Arts Studio is excited to again host author and Poet Laureate of New Milford, Jim Scrimgeour for a reading from his latest book, Voices of Dogtown; Poems Arising Out of a Ghost Town Landscape, on October 26th at 3PM with a light reception immediately following. This event is free and open to the public with seating on a first come basis.

Dr. James Scrimgeour is a Professor Emeritus at Western Connecticut State University and has published ten books of poetry and over 220 poems in anthologies and periodicals. His more recent work is a collage of deep historical research and original poetry that celebrates Dogtown’s unique and mysterious character. “We’re honored to be hosting another reading with Jim and his newest publication. It’s an event you don’t want to miss” said Gallery 25 Director Diane Dubreuil.

With guidance from the New Milford Commission on the Arts, Gallery 25 was founded in the fall of 2014 as a cooperative-style art gallery representing local and regional award-winning artists and artisans. The gallery is dedicated to promoting and fostering an appreciation of the arts through education programs and showcasing the work of local artists from western Connecticut.

Gallery 25 is conveniently located at 11 Railroad Street at the historic train station in New Milford, Connecticut (www.gallery25ct.com). Gallery hours are Thursday and Sunday, 12 Pm to 5 pm, Friday and Saturday, 10AM to 8PM or by appointment (phone 860-355-6009). Admission is free. Ample free parking is available.
