Learn how to build a functional three dimensional form over a foam resist. Layer merino, silk, and mohair to create a decorative vessel. Feel free to bring in some of your favorite scraps of ribbon or yarns to felt into your piece.  This is a useful technique, once your master the concept of using a resist, you’ll be felting slippers, mittens, and bags in no time.

Skill level: Advanced Beginner

Local artisan Justine Moody, has had a passion for working with fibers and clay since the day she discovered handcrafting. She is a fine art graduate from Pratt Institute and for over 10 years, owned a bright and bustling studio that nurtured the creativity of others by introducing them to two of her favorite mediums. Over the past few years however, Justine has focused her work on the grounding techniques of traditional wet felting using natural fibers and hand dyed fabrics. Justine’s current work consists of both non-functional three-dimensional pieces as well as an ethereal collection of nuno felted wearable art pieces and tapestries.
