“Following The Line” – Reed Weimer

Reed Weimer will be exhibiting paintings that are part of his continuing explorations of linear abstraction from the “Strata Series”. He will also be exhibiting works from a new series of abstracted figurative works, these portraying mythological characters.

“Prehistoric Life” – Clay Callahan

Clay Callahan’s work begins in uncertainty, with no specific image or concept in mind, just a desire to fill empty space using a mixture of acrylic, ink, crayon, pencil, oil pastel, and collage. Clay experiments through layering to build surfaces of shifting color, form and texture. The process resists predictable outcomes and allows intuitive structures and relationships to emerge and be built upon.

The energy in Clay’s work comes from these layers and the contrasts they create: deliberate versus accidental, opaque versus translucent, distinct versus diffuse and bright versus dark. These tensions invite surprise and sustain the momentum of each piece. The final compositions balance purpose and ambiguity, suggesting forgotten histories or uncovered artifacts. The goal is to create images of unconventional beauty that feel both emergent and deliberate, difficult to define yet strangely familiar. The meaning, to the extent there is any, is entirely the product of the viewer’s internal world.

The Core Annex will feature  “Points of Balance” – Mark Eirhart

An Exhibition of Abstract Acrylic and Mixed Media Paintings

Mark Eirhart’s mixed media paintings are influenced by the natural world, memories and dreams. These works seek to find a balancing point where the physical painting becomes a springboard into a world with its own story, and possible futures.

Mark works with acrylic, pastel, markers and collage.

He says, “This work is a way for me to connect to the world via my primitive wordless self. I often feel like an explorer venturing into the unknown. My primary motivation is to have fun with the painting and hope that my viewers have fun and discover a rich experience with my work.”

Mark lives and paints in his home studio in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
