Join us for a free public screening of short films created by Hudson teens and tweens as part of Hudson Area Library’s 2019 Hack The Library program. In honor of Hudson Area Library’s A Universe of Stories Summer Reading Program theme, and the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing, participants will work with teaching artists like Nebula-nominated sci-fi writer Sam J. Miller, filmmaker Zia Anger and digital artists Rebecca Borrer and Corbin Ordel to create their own ‘Sci-Fi Narratives’.

This free summer family matinee movie screening will include free popcorn for all attendees and will be hosted in Basilica’s 150-seat, air-conditioned North Hall cinema. The screening will be part of a regular series of free Sunday afternoon matinee movie screenings, which will also include screenings of New York International Children’s Film Festival’s Kid Flicks series of international shorts on Sunday, July 28, Sunday, August 4 and Sunday, August 18.

Basilica Hudson’s Film and Media program is generously supported, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and the Alexander & Marjorie Hover Foundation.
