The Barnes Foundation has two campuses, the first facility on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, the center of a renown permanent art collection. Additional public sites include the historic home in the suburb of Merion, location of the Arboretum and archives.

The original galley collection includes, post-impressionist, and early modern paintings, African sculpture, Pennsylvania German furniture, ceramics, and metalwork. Other public exhibitions offer the Merion plant collection with seasonal bloom calendar and the institutional archives, manuscript collections, and rare book collection.
