As an artist deeply rooted in the vibrant tapestry of the American West, my work serves as a bridge between past and present, drawing from the rich history and cultural influences that have shaped my identity. My connection to the land, as a descendant of pioneers and settlers, flows through my veins like the rivers that wind through our majestic landscapes intertwining with echoes of ancient civilizations and the enduring spirit of Native American traditions. Through my art, I weave together historic symbology and patterns, paying homage to the intricate designs of indigenous cultures, reflecting the threads of my own family lineage rooted in the ancient lands of Ireland and Wales. Exploring the shared Western history of early settlers in Texas and Montana, I delve into the myths and legends that have shaped our collective imagination. Drawing inspiration from vintage photographs of the frontier, I strive to capture the essence of a bygone era, where humanity was intimately connected to the untamed wilderness, finding solace and strength in nature's embrace. Each piece in my collection is infused with the essence of the West, where rugged landscapes and untamed beauty inspire every stroke of the clay. From the majestic peaks to the winding rivers, our ceramics embody the spirit of the Big Sky Country. Through the molding of clay, infused with earthy tones and organic features, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia for a time when the frontier was vast and limitless, and the promise of adventure beckoned on the horizon.
