Vanessa Valentine Art Exhibit
Marlborough Arts Center at Town Hall
Sep. 1, 2024 - Dec. 31, 2016
Vanessa Valentine of Marlborough, Ct is now exhibiting a variety of her photographs and art works at the Marlborough Town Hall Gallery. The show will be open September through December of this year during their usual opening hours.
Vanessa, who has lived in Marlborough with her husband and children for the past 25 years, has had such a full artistic career that she finds it difficult to choose a favorite medium. She credits all the electives she could take at South Windsor High School as the beginning of this eclectic history. In college she worked as a photographic retoucher and restorer and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from UConn. Her graphic design software experience after graduation included being Art Director at the Marketing Corporation of America in Westport, CT, and working later for companies such as Sony, Panasonic, Lipton, IBM, and Frito-Lay on a variety of pieces for trade show displays, brochures, sales kits, magazine ads, etc. She also learned about building presentation boards, packaging prototypes, designing, printing, and production aspects of graphic design. All of these experiences gave her a very strong foundation for starting her own business, Valentine Designs, in 2000. Fifteen years later she started a line of hand-made jewelry pieces called Sparkly Rock Creations to her creative output that are on sale at the Marlborough Arts Center’s Gift Shop, at outdoor market days at the Shops at Marlborough Barn, and soon at the vintage shop called Finders Keepers in Glastonbury, CT.
