Sponsored in part by the Greater Hartford Arts Council, this month the Butler-McCook House & Garden will host the exhibition opening of Lisa Pressamarita’s “Trees and Landscapes”, as part of The Main Event: Cultural Cocktail Hour series on the Second Thursday of each month. The exhibit will feature trees and landscapes, both real and imagined, in pencil, chalk pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Exhibit runs through May, open during regular museum hours. Lisa Pressamarita has been a professional painter for over 25 years. The Trees and Landscapes exhibition documents her continued studies of the contents, color and light of the plein air landscape. “Painting is bigger than I am, and I find myself in a constant chase for it.” Line has a tendency to repeat itself Pressamarita’s work, and will often cross over to relate to the human form.
