Listing for Spectrum 2012, Juried Art Exhibition New Canaan, CT – Announcing the Annual Juried Art exhibition, Spectrum 2012, sponsored by the New Canaan Society for the Arts in the Betty barker Gallery, Carriage Barn Arts Center in Waveny Park, 681 South Ave. The show features paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, and sculpture by artists from the tri-state area and New England. Juror Christopher W. White, an art consultant, former gallery owner and former Assistant Director of The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, will select the work for the exhibition and also designate prizewinners in various media categories. Cash prizes donated by local businesses and patrons will be awarded. The show runs from Wednesday, May 23rd through Sunday June 17th, 2012. An opening reception, free and open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd, 5-7 pm with the presentation to prizewinners at 6:00 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Sunday 12-4pm.
