SONG OF THE REED FLUTE

Rimi Yang’s oil paintings immerse the viewer in a daydream. Bursting with vibrant color, expertly drawn forms, and whimsically loose brushwork, Yang successfully balances old master influences with contemporary surrealism.  There is an inherent duality in her images as she blends Eastern and Western culture, the figurative and the abstract, the real and the fantastical. Her work sparks a cross-cultural dialogue as it can be universally understood while still perceived on an intimate level.

Yang, who spent her childhood in Japan before moving to the United States in 1986, has trained extensively both in the U.S. and abroad, bringing her deep appreciation of art and classical technique to each piece she produces. She has been exhibited internationally and is the recipient of numerous awards.

Rimi Yang’s work will inspire, provoke, engage and mesmerize.
