Connecticut artist Nancy L. Greco will share new work at the Gallery on the Green in Canton, Connecticut on September 1st. The show theme is “Messengers.”

Greco’s month-long exhibition features recent graphite drawings where dream-like imagery and archetypes stretch the viewer’s visual expectations – altering the perspective of logic and sense.

“ The messengers in this show have wrapped themselves in cloth, posed as childhood toys and archetypal imagery – even as statues intended to tease devotees while comforting them with narrative possibilities.

This theme weighs heavily on modern life. Today we tend to discard one messenger and replace it with another, thinking that we have turned a new leaf. In fact, our old messengers cling to the new messengers, creating a far more complex tapestry of communication between the beings and forces around us. My hope is that these messengers awaken new views of the world where prejudice and habit no longer dominate our consciousness.”
