“Forty Years Interpreting Tradtion”
Hera Gallery
Oct. 18, 2025 - Nov. 15, 2014
South Kingstown: Hera Gallery is pleased to present Forty Years Interpreting Tradition, an exhibition featuring the work of the teachers and students from the Saunderstown Weaving School. This school is truly a hidden gem, educating multitudes of students in the fine craft of hand weaving. The woven pieces that are made by both students and teachers are unique works of art, reflecting an age-old tradition that is still thriving today.
Established in 1974 by Norma Smayda, The Saunderstown Weaving School is commemorating its fortieth anniversary with Forty Years Interpreting Tradition. Hera Gallery is delighted to again have the opportunity to host an exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of the School. Both Hera Gallery and the Saunderstown Weaving School were established in 1974, and this show illustrates the remarkable and enduring history for each organization.
