The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will exhibit the work of Tampa’s very own photographers laureate on July 9 through September 30.

Each year from 2003-2013, the City of Tampa, Art Programs Division commissioned an artist to photograph a perspective of the City of Tampa with an emphasis on what it means to be in Tampa at this particular time in history. The result of this juried process has produced a public collection and archive that is representative of the life and times in Tampa by regional, national and international photographers.

Titled “City of Tampa Photographer Laureates 2003-2013,” FMoPA’s exhibition will feature about 50 selections from all Photographer Laureates.

“Tampa Photographer Laureates are talented individuals who have uniquely shown us the culture, the background and the depths of Tampa,” said FMoPA Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “Their work is a constant reminder of a city that’s ever-changing.”
Exhibiting artists include Marion Belanger, Jeremy Chandler, Suzanne Camp Crosby, MK Foltz, Karen Glaser, Steven S. Gregory, Rebecca Sexton Larson, Barbara Jo Revelle, Beth Reynolds and Ric Savid.

The exhibition will be on view during regular museum operating hours and is included in the general admission fee. Museum admission is free for members and $10 for not-yet members. To learn more about this exhibition and other programming at the museum, visit www.fmopa.org
