Christine Wallers: Death of a Moth
September 12, 2015 – September 27, 2015
Reception: Saturday, September 12 // 7-9 PM
A Chicago native, Christine Wallers is a cross-disciplinary artist working in installation, paper, photography, and sound. Relationship(s) between material, space, time and light are the fundamental elements of her creative process as she uses formal procedures of minimal and post-minimal art to create temporal works often inspired by natural phenomena.
Death of a Moth is a site-specific installation, completely visible from outside the gallery for the full run of the exhibit. During the day, the install will utilize the natural light of the gallery’s southern-facing storefront windows. At dusk, the work will be activated with projected images.
Wallers has lived and exhibited in Seattle, Portland, New Mexico, India, Germany and France and was a visiting artist at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, TX. For a full CV and extended bibliography please visit www.christinewallers.com.
