Montserrat College of Art’s seniors will hold a series of weekly group exhibitions at Montserrat’s 301 Gallery, Mingo Gallery and Porter Mill this spring. Exhibit openings are held every Wednesday night and are open to the public to see this cutting-edge work and talk to the students.

Each small group theme show includes the individual work of each artist, developed in the course of their studies toward their BFA degree. The shows are themed by the students’ concentrations and include illustration, fine arts, graphic design and animation. The fine arts shows include sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking and book arts.

Sonder:
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.
(Koenig, John. “Sonder.” The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows.)
