This workshop will explore a variety of media and techniques that will extend the boundaries of traditional painting and drawing. Students will create a small collage from found materials, magazines, books and printed matter which they will reference as they learn to manipulate scale from smaller to larger. Internationally renown artist and National Academician Roberto Juarez, will demonstrate his method of using rice paper and urethane, which students will be able to reinterpret and adapt through creating a second larger painting of their own using Juarez’s collage and rice paper technique.
