Two artists who came to Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts of the University of New Haven, married and went on to have successful art careers will have a joint exhibit at the Chauncey Stillman Gallery at Lyme from July 7 to August 13.
It is the first joint exhibit the artists, Tom and Peggy Root, have had since the student exhibition during their senior year at the college in 1987.
The exhibit, titled “On Familiar Ground: An Exhibit of Paintings by Two of Lyme Academy College’s Most Prominent Alumni – Peggy and Tom Root” will open with a reception on Thursday, July 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
