The exhibition, under the patronage of the city and province of Venice, will be held in Venice, in the prestigious Palazzo Flangini, from December 15th 2014 to January 31st 2015.

The first winter edition of Contemporary Venice is focused on the theme of IDENTITIES and on the relationship between man, society and contemporary cities. The exhibition will explore the lifestyles and ways of being that run on a parallel level of our ordinary life. Everyday behaviours are the actual reflection of cities and societies we have created and that have developed a personal identity. This new city character becomes the new order that modifies our everyday life.

Palazzo Flangini, located in the heart of Venice, nearby Santa Lucia railway station and overlooking Grand Canal, is a luxury, elegant and noble palace, a typical expression of the Venetian Baroque. Built since 1644 and projected by the famous architect Giuseppe Sardi, the palace is still finely decorated with sculptures, “stucchi”, frescos and paintings, with a monumental façade on Canal Grande. It is perfectly and entirely restored and fully equipped for hosting any type of events and exhibitions. In addition to an exclusive entrance directly from Campo San Geremia, it has a private water entrance and a dock alongside the facade. The total area of about 850 sq/mt is divided in ground floor (the typical Venetian Fondaco) and the noble first floor (Portego).

Starting from 2001, Luca Curci with International ArtExpo and It’s LIQUID Group, have curated and organized more than 80 contemporary art events, with the participation of about 2.500 international artists from all-over the world (UK, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Portugal, The Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Poland, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Israel, UAE, Russia, Thailand, etc.) with an average of 45 artworks exhibited in each show (with a maximum of 108 artists involved in the great MORPHOS festival held in Venice during the Architecture Biennale 2014). The organization has international partnerships with art venues in Italy, Turkey, USA, Spain, Argentina, UK, Middle East, etc., and collaborates with museums, galleries and institutions such as MuMo – Museum Montanelli in Prague, Laura Haber Gallery in Buenos Aires, MIXER gallery in Istanbul and MECA art center in Almeria.
