Storm King Art Center hosts its annual Family Day on Saturday, August 6,with special programs and activities for visitors of all ages offered throughout the day. Highlights include: •art workshops, including one led by artist Chakaia Booker, who will inspire families to create sculptures using a variety of materials, and one in which families create life-size silhouettes from cardboard and place them in the landscape; •classical music performances, including a concert that introduces children to musical notes and the many ways they can be arranged; •roving musicians playing children’s music; and •more family-friendly programs. In addition to these activities—all of which are free with Storm King admission—Storm King Café will offerspecial cookout fare in addition to its regular menu, which includes child-friendly options. Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic.
