WHO: David Adickes and Justin Garcia Adickes, an internationally renowned artist and sculptor whose career both as a painter and sculpture spans six decades. His works are featured in many museums, corporate and private collections. He is known for his heroic scale sculptures like Sam Houston located in Huntsville. Others include the 43 Presidents heads located in Presidential Park in Pearland, the Beatles, the American Statesmen and The Cellist in front of the Lyric Center in downtown Houston. His most recent work, ‘Big O’ Charlie Chapman, can be seen at his studio on Nance St.

Garcia, voted “2013 Artist of the Year” by the Houston Press editorial staff and named one of “Houston’s Top 100 Creatives” and recognized, as one of “Houston’s Top 10 Painters” is a prolific painter and creative force. Garcia recently published his first book, OneTonGoldfish: In Search of the Tangible Dream which is a detailed account of his intimate explorations of his own creative process, which unexpectedly reveals a scientific perspective on the radical effect creativity has on humanity. His signature style incorporates various media to explore a wide range of texture and colors which can be seen throughout each of his 7 series of work.

WHAT: A joint exhibition featuring the newest and never before seen works of both Adickes and Garcia. Adickes will be exhibiting a group of abstract paintings never before shown and Garcia will be exhibiting new works from his Reflection Series.
